This is it! The Hoops Nerd's 1st Official 2014 NBA Mock Draft. There will be one now, one after March Madness (one round) and one a week before the actual draft (two rounds). Here are the ground rules. 

1) The drafting ranks are based on the standings of December 17th, 2013. I didn't do any lottery. Too complicated. 

2) I ranked the lottery teams first, then playoff teams second, based on actual winning percentages. Based on that methodology, weird things happened, like Toronto being in the playoffs for example.

3) Everybody declares until players say otherwise.

The Official Hoops Nerd 2013 NBA Mock Draft

Tonight is game 7 of the NBA Finals. It's been a visceral experience for me, so far. It's been the grittiest, most emotional finals I can remember since the Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008. So for this reason, I will skip the subject until it's over completely and entertain you with my nerdgasm about the incoming NBA Entry Draft, which is schedule to happen a week from today, on June 27th (I'm going to live-tweet this bad boy like there's no tomorrow.

So today is the first ever official Hoops Nerd NBA mock draft. I have done a ridiculous amount of research, listened to the online buzz, used my brain and tried to anticipate the probable chaos. Whenever the stakes are considered low like this year, it's always fun and ridiculously chaotic. So given the strong improbability that there are no trades, here is my final, complete mock draft for 2013, with commentaries. I hope you enjoy!
